‘Art is not what you see but what you make others see.’ Degas

Our appetite for risk is endless, which is why we’re always seeking to work with a wide range of creative practitioners from both established and newer disciplines within the field of outdoor arts.

From puppeteers and costume makers, to sculptors and digital artists, our wide and varied programme of productions means we’re always looking for new talent to join our extensive cast of freelance artists.

Opportunities for new artistic commissions will be advertised on this site, on Twitter and Facebook and, where relevant, via our third party partners.

‘Work is much more fun than fun.’ Noel Coward

If you’re looking to work with one of the leading names in outdoor arts, then look no further than Walk the Plank.

Our rich tapestry of work and ever-changing content means that there’s never a dull moment and there’s always a new experience around the corner. It’s fun – closer to play than work! – but challenging and rewarding too.

When we advertise new roles, we’re on the lookout for people with a flexible and can-do attitude and a real team playing approach.

The best place to find out new opportunities is on this website and via our Twitter and Facebook

‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ Winston Churchill

Participation and getting stuck in is at the heart of everything we do, and our indispensable team of volunteers play a magical and invaluable role in helping us create and deliver the unique Walk the Plank experience.

Whether you’re a festival maker, a community art worker, a production gofer or an event day assistant, the show simply wouldn’t happen without you.

We’re always looking for volunteers so the best way to find one that suits you is to keep an out on our site and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

We’ll give you all the hands-on training and inductions you need to feel part of the Walk the Plank family.
