Voluntary & Learning Opportunity – Stage Managers at Manchester Diwali

Want to be part of this year’s Manchester Diwali celebrations finale?

A great opportunity to learn new skills from our professional team and help bring the Manchester Diwali finale to life.

This year Walk the Plank will be presenting Spark! – a captivating evening performance forming the finale to this year’s Manchester Diwali celebrations in Albert Square on Saturday, October 15.

Street theatre show Spark! is performed by five to seven characters, combining high-impact drumming, dynamic choreography and beautiful lighting design.

The performance combines static set-pieces, movement between sites and audience interaction. The performers constantly shift the focal point of the show and sometimes surround the audience completely so they feel immersed in the drama which unfolds. The show gradually builds in intensity culminating in a huge climax of light, sound, smoke, movement along with dynamic sound and pyrotechnics.

This exciting performance will be the first time Spark! have performed in Manchester and any Diwali event in the world and promises to be an exhilarating finale to the celebrations.

We are looking for 5 volunteers to form part of our Stage Management team.

As a volunteer stage manager you will assist our professional team, providing artist liaison support and helping with the finale procession.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience and new skills for a career in Stage Management.

All Diwali Stage Managers will need to be available from 2pm on the day of the show, October 15, 2016. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and food will be provided on the day.

Interested? Then we’d love to hear from you. Please apply here www.eventbrite.com

Deadline: 7th October 2016.
