A quarterly meeting of like-minded groups and people
It's good to talk, to make connections and to share ideas, so we're delighted to be part of the Salford Cultural Organisations Network which has been meeting quarterly since April 2018.
Initiated with Islington Mill, this informal network aims to meet at different venues around the city and it's great that we've already been able to host one of these network meetings in our Cobden Works home.
Unlike Manchester, Salford doesn't have a fixed geographical centre so throughthis group we envisage creating a roving cultural city centre as a hub for thinking and sharing.
This network was particularly useful when preparing for Salford's Creative People and Places bid, and in partnership with Salford CVS and the Health Improvement Team we are exploring setting up a parallel network for grassroots volunteer led groups. For more information download this document:
"It was great to meet a wide range of people from different cultural organisations across Salford, and to host this informal meeting of people and ideas at our Cobden Works home. Given that we're based in the very heart of a local community based around Cobden Street it's good to show people where we are and talk about what we do." Ben Turner
