River Stories

If you’re planning on holding a river festival or regatta in 2018 or beyond, then our exciting new show River Stories is the perfect way to bring a captivating spectacle to your local audiences.

The show had its debut at the Reading on Thames Festival in September 2017 and proved to be a great hit with the crowds.

“I just wanted to drop you a note to say a huge thank you on behalf of Reading for your wonderful contribution to the Reading on Thames Festival!

We absolutely loved working with you and hope to catch up with you both very soon, in between all of your amazing projects!!”

Zsuzsi Lindsay, Reading on Thames Festival Producer

Performed during early evening, in the dark, the key features of this show are the illuminated River Monster, Swan and Fish who play a key role in driving forward the narrative, set to an original score.

Each River Stories show is designed to be unique to its setting and we can work with local artists and community groups to develop the story and play a part in how it is delivered.

The show culminates in a firework display, and additional pyrotechnic special effects and lighting are used throughout to create an unforgettable spectacle.  A fantastic way of bringing alive local history and folklore.

Depending on budget and audience size, this show can be adapted in scale and could include local river people taking part with their illuminated boats.

Summary of features:

  • Flexible, site responsive show for up to 5,000 spectators, depending on location
  • Perfect as part of a wider river festival programme
  • Adaptable in size and content
  • Illuminated river craft elements make it great for late summer/early autumn events
  • Great spectacle if you’re looking for a water-based alternative for your light night events

Show duration: 40-50 minutes.
