A New Year’s Eve double act to bring in 2019
Get the city in a party mood for a Happy New Year
For many years we've been coming back to Newcastle to help the people of this great city say goodbye to the old year and herald in the new. In previous years this has included a Winter Carnival with pyrotechnics and, in 2017, a themed sculptural bonfire and fireworks finale.
For 2018 we returned with a slight variation, this time with a main display focused on Newcastle Civic Centre in the early evening, followed by a short, sky-filling pyro spectacle at midnight over the keys.
The early evening show, with pyrotechnics precisely choreographed to a mix of feelgood Christmas and New Year tracks, was designed to thrill all family, and is a great example of how we have used our familiarity of the Civic Centre to create a display that responds to this grand civic building and its surroundings.
Our midnight display over Newcastle Quayside saw us create a sky-filling array of pyrotechnics in a shorter show. Here the effects were larger and more expansive, aimed to be seen by a more dispersed audiences.
Both shows are perfect examples of our proven expertise in giving two different settings in the same city completely different displays, but both with our hallmark signature of originality.
