Great Balls of Fire 2009
We were comissioned by Tower Hamlets Borough Council to create yet another exciting, distinct fireworks event for their November 5th celebrations, building on our history of dramatic displays in Victoria Park. The display was to have a strong theme with broad appeal and needed to be of a huge scale, entertaining over 60,000 audience members of all ages.
Our expert fireworks diplay team and special effects crew devised a show that would exceed all expectations and match the scale of the expansive park. We knew we had to deliver something that would amaze young and old alike whilst giving everyone who attended a great view.
We developed our unique theme "Great Balls of Fire" to answer that call. Warming souls on a cold November Eve, we chose a selection of fiery themed tunes and incorporated a state of the art flame system to make audiences feel the heat. All of this was played out in perfect synchronisation to a dramatic aerial fireworks display
Over 20 individually controlled flame projectors were positioned on towers along a 100m frontage, creating a mesmerising wall of fire and fireworks meaning no one would miss out on the spectacle. Jets and balls of flame shot up to 20m in the air, bringing a rapturous response from the audience, all whilst huge colourful fireworks burst overhead to a thumping soundtrack.
Named the best firework display by Capital FM and the London Evening Standard, this show has gone down as one of our favourites too.
"A wildly ambitious, theatrical, fireworks display." - Time Out, London
