Festival of the Sky

Date: 6 September 2019 to 8 September 2019

Location: Cleethorpes

A long weekend of arts, culture and activities for festival-goers of all ages.

We’re thrilled to announce we're working in partnership with From the Fields to bring you one of the highlight pieces at the inaugural Festival of the Sky, proudly supported by Arts Council England and Coastal Communities Fund.

In celebration of the Montgolfier brothers, pioneers of the first manned balloon flight we bring you the world premiere of this outdoor extravaganza, 'Forgotten Voyage', a magical spectacle of music, lanterns, aerial performance and pyrotechnics. Become mesmerised by the incredible story of the first ever piloted ascent as balloons light up the Meridian Showground, brought to you in partnership with Richmond Events.

Explore the diverse and exciting programme of events themed around discovery, sky and the environment stretching across the seafront, promenade and into the town. Featuring a series of our fiery installations and our Forgotten Voyages balloon show as well as carnival arts, bespoke installations, unforgettable performances and vibrant live music.

Journey to the Cleethorpes Discovery Centre Gardens on Friday the 6th and experience our much loved Immersive Fire Garden, where visitors will have a unique opportunity to wander around a series of enchanting fiery installations.
