Creative Explorers Outside: Continuing Professional / Skills Development programme

Date: 1 November 2020 to 1 March 2021

Location: Salford

Client: Salford City Council

We’re delighted to have begun our Creative Explorers Outside programme with Peel Park Rangers.

Following an open call out in October to curious creatives and outdoor enthusiasts based around the Salford area, we’re so pleased to have invited a group of 20+ artists, local residents and park volunteers to join the free course and engage in mix of digital workshops in larger groups, and smaller in-person learning sessions.

The Creative Explorers Outside continued personal development (CPD) is designed for people who are interested in or have experience of:

  • Arts, culture and heritage, particularly with a focus on participation
  • Green spaces and the environment / gardening / conservation
  • Making things happen within your community
  • Learning, developing or sharing creative skills

On the lead up to Christmas, we’re leading a short series of sessions, including an introduction with Liz Pugh and a banner making workshop. The course will continue again in February, leading towards a proposed appropriately distanced sharing event at the end of March 2021 to mark 12 months since the 1st lockdown was announced and implemented.

Created by Walk the Plank with Peel Park Rangers. Funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Salford City Council. Priority is given to artists and residents living or working in Salford.
