Mayor of Salford visits our new Cobden Works

In one of a series of pre-construction invitations, The new Mayor of Salford Paul Dennett visited the site of our new outdoor arts creative hub, the Cobden Works, on July 15th prior to work starting on site later this summer.

Part funded by Arts Council England, our new creative hub is due to be completed in spring/summer 2017 and, for the first time in our history, will provide us with a multi-purpose site for making, learning, research and development and our head office functions.

The Mayor’s visit provided us with another opportunity to share our vision for the site and showcase some of our outdoor arts creativity with the lighting of our epic cauldron, first used in our production of Ar Waith Ar Daith for the Wales Millennium Centre last year, and more recently at Newcastle New Year Eve and at the Isle of Fire in Barry.  This is typical of much of the creative work that is currently produced off site but can now be made in the Cobden Works when it opens in 2017.

The Mayor was met by Liz Pugh, co-founder of Walk the Plank and other members of the company.
