If you’re an operations or logistics supremo looking for a more exciting challenge, this unique new five month seasonal role with one of the UK’s leading outdoor arts companies could be right up your street.

Between August and January each year Walk the Plank Fireworks stages a massive programme of firework displays around the UK, for both public and private sector clients.  Once our annual delivery of fireworks arrives, it’s all hands-on deck to ensure that our valuable stock is securely assigned to a complex timetable of shows and events of every size, shape and scale.

Working alongside our team of pyrotechnicians and fusing specialists, our Operations Manager keeps a forensic eye on the movement and assignment of stock to each event.  As the pyro season gathers momentum, it’s this person who will be keeping everything on an even keel.

You’ll know exactly what is where and when, and keep up-to-the-minute files on the movement of stock, invoicing and the ongoing maintenance of our secure warehouse facility.

First and foremost, you’ll have a brain hard wired to systems, flow charts and spreadsheets along with an open communicative approach to working with a dedicated team who, like you, will be up against it to deliver against a challenging matrix of work. A pyrotechnics background is a bonus, but definitely not an essential.

A fantastic opportunity to make your mark with a multi-award winning company at this exciting stage in our development, you might currently be working in warehouse management, stock control or logistics.  With us, you’ll be working in a lovely semi-rural location so you’ll need to be self-sufficient, a good team player and able to drive to the site. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Walk the Plank fireworks is the trading arm of the outdoor arts charity Walk the Plank. As such you’ll be part of a family of like-minded creative people committed to bringing amazing spectacle to communities of people in the great outdoors.  Our head office is in Salford and you may be required to report there from time to time although your primary place of work is near St Helens in the North West.
